Calne Town Council seeks to improve and enhance the Town of Calne in an environmentally sustainable manner, having regard to the identified needs and wishes of all sections of the community. It is the responsibility of each post holder to contribute to this ethos in the best way suited to their day to day responsibilities and duties. Most visibly, Calne Town Council will act proactively to enable the community to involve themselves in cultural, artistic, sport and active recreation as part of an active and healthy lifestyle. This will involve initiating and maintaining significant creative partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector partners and colleagues as well as other relevant voluntary and statutory organisations. The Award Winning Beversbrook Sports and Community Facility Team maintain the 96 acres site which consists of: -
 
12 football pitches
1 cricket outfield
1 full size 3rd Generation pitch
1 Small sided 3rd Generation Pitch
 
Purpose of the Job
As a member of a small grounds team, you will be required to supervise and maintain Town Council Award Winning Beversbrook Sports and Community Facility. With a proven track record within the grounds maintenance/horticultural industry, you will essentially have proven managerial qualities, the ability to use your own initiative, demonstrate common sense and be reliable and enthusiastic.

The successful candidate must be honest and reliable, be able to manage and motivate staff and to support the personal development of individuals, be highly efficient, energetic, physically fit and able to work under their own initiative, have good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with a diverse range of people, be a good team worker, be practical with good problem solving skills and be professional, approachable and proactive

37 hours per week, salary SCP 20-23 £19,430 - £21,268

The post-holder is responsible for the delivery of high quality information to members of the public, community partners, councillors and staff to increase awareness of events, initiatives and developments being delivered by Calne Town Council. Knowledge and experience of web administration and social, as well as tradition print, media are essential. Knowledge/experience of design software is also a key requirement.

The post-holder will deliver face-to-face information by supporting Information Centre colleagues, and offer administrative support to committees and colleagues as and when necessary to further the aims and objectives of the Town Council and its partner organisations.

The role may require some unsocial working hours (evenings and weekends) according to the needs of the Council.

Weekend Caretaker at Beversbrook Sports & Community Facility

16 hours per week

Purpose of the Job

The Weekend Caretaker is responsible for the care and upkeep of the building and surrounding grounds at Beversbrook Sports & Community Facility such as entrances / exit paths / car park / cricket outfield and football pitches.

The Weekend Caretaker will also be responsible for making sure the building is in proper working order during the weekend, overseeing all bookings and supervising the hirers. This would include occasionally working behind the Beversbrook Bar serving customers.
