Calne Christmas Festival and Lantern Parade will take place on Saturday 2nd December in Calne Town Centre.
The Christmas Festival and Lantern Parade is one of our most anticipated events. Festivities will begin at 11am, and will include reindeer, Santa’s Grotto, fun fair, food, drink and crafts stalls, plus lots more! Marie Lennon, the BBC Wiltshire weekday morning programme presenter, will be keeping the crowd entertained. The lantern parade will begin at 4:30pm, and at 5pm the town mayor will be assisted by the Guy Fawkes competition winners to switch the Christmas lights on, followed by a firework finale.
Town Mayor Cllr Tony Trotman said
“I am sure that we are all looking forward to the Calne Christmas Festival Saturday 2nd December.
There will be lots to do for children, with Santa’s Grotto and Fun Fair, and they will love the Reindeer leading the main part of the Lantern Parade and of course parents will enjoy the Food / Drink and Craft stalls selling items that will raise money for their charities.
The Christmas lights will be switched on by the winner of the Guy Fawkes competition, that was held on the successful bonfire night event held on Friday 3rd November and we wish everybody a safe and enjoyable event.”
Last year Calne made it into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest number of living people in a nativity scene. This was a huge achievement for Calne, and it would be great to see as many people there this year.
