“Calne Masterplanning Exhibition & Workshops Outcome Report ready to view”
Earlier this year the Calne Vision and Scoping study report was produced following consultation with its community. It recommended the following Vision;
‘A prosperous market town with a thriving local economy in which people want to live and work. A town that is resilient to challenges through robust infrastructure and decision making. An inclusive and lively community that possesses the skills and businesses to remain competitive, and generates economic opportunities to meet local employment needs. A dynamic community in which public, voluntary and business sectors work together to achieve their chosen vision.’

Calne Town Council in partnership with Wiltshire Council ran a number of exhibitions in Calne throughout November & December to plan the town's future development. You may have seen the exhibitions at the Lantern Parade on Saturday 8th December, or the displays in the Library, Town Hall and Community Hub. Don't worry if you missed these, click here to download a copy of the Calne Masterplan Exhibition.
Calne Town Council has since been working closely with local landowners, community groups and residents to produce a Calne Town Masterplan which aims to make best use of sites and existing facilities in the Town Centre. Wiltshire Council is supporting this work.
Two public workshops were held in January which were very well attended and generated some interesting feedback and suggestions.
